Volkstanzen für alle! ist ein wanderndes Workshop-Format, das traditionelle Tänze in neue Kontexte und Räume trägt – so wie beim ersten Anlass im queerfeministischen Raum der Reitschule in Bern.
Traditionen werden aktuell vermehrt von rechtskonservativen und patriarchalen Kräften vereinnahmt, um bestehende Ausschlussstrukturen gegenüber bestimmten Gruppen auszuweiten oder zu stabilisieren. Im Gegensatz dazu versteht Volkstanzen für alle! diese nicht als etwas Unveränderliches, sondern als eine lebendige, dynamische Praxis, die sich verändern darf und soll. Zugleich antwortet der Anlass auf die wachsende Sehnsucht nach analog erfahrbaren Begegnungsräumen in einer von «Digital Fatigue» und «Loneliness Epidemic» geprägten Gegenwart.
Das linkspolitische Kulturzentrum als Veranstaltungsort bietet den geeigneten Rahmen für eine solche Wiederaneignung: Volkstanz als vergnügliche, inklusive Begegnung für Neugierige ebenso wie für langjährig Tanzbegeisterte.

Volkstanzen für alle! is a travelling workshop format that brings traditional dances into new contexts and spaces – such as its first event in the queer-feminist space of Reitschule Bern.
Currently, traditions are increasingly being co-opted by right-wing conservative and patriarchal forces to expand or reinforce existing structures of exclusion against certain groups. In contrast, Volkstanzen für alle! sees traditions not as something fixed and unchanging, but as a living, dynamic practice that is allowed – and encouraged – to evolve. At the same time, the event responds to the growing longing for analogue, tangible spaces of encounter in a world shaped by ‘digital fatigue’ and the ‘loneliness epidemic’.
The left-wing cultural centre provides the ideal setting as a venue for this reappropriation: folk dance as a joyful, inclusive opportunity to meet for the curious and long-time dance enthusiasts alike.
